Event Details

Join us for four weeks of harvesting opportunities at the Young Living farms in Highland Flats, Idaho. At the harvest you can expect to adopt a lifestyle of hard work and deep connection with the earth—a lifestyle that is quickly vanishing from our modern world. Enjoy the gorgeous winter landscape of our farm as we work side-by-side to harvest, process, prepare, and distill our delicate botanicals into the purest essential oils.

Year after year our harvests have proven to be a source of tremendous growth, learning, and connection for our participants, who walk away with an increased appreciation for the power of nature and Young Living’s commitment to essential oils.

The 2012 Winter Harvest will be a truly unforgettable event. We hope to see many harvest veterans and new faces this year as we work together and renew our desire to share the message of Young Living with the entire world.

Space is limited and will fill up quickly, so please do not wait to register!

All distributors 18 and older are eligible to attend. Children under 16 are not permitted to attend and children aged 16 and 17 must attend with an adult. All participants must be physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds, tolerate extreme temperatures, and participate in rigorous work tasks such as burring trees, lifting branches, operating a chipper, loading logs onto a horse wagon, driving teams, operating a chainsaw or ax, and communal camp upkeep tasks.

The cost is $100 per person, per week; or $150 per couple, per week. If you sign up for three or four weeks, you will only be charged for the first two weeks.

You may choose one of the following accommodation options:

·          Stay in one of the tents provided by Young Living at the farm; you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow.

·       Reserve one of our cabins, available on a first-come, first-served basis. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow.

·       Send an e-mail to farmevents@youngliving.com for hotel lodging options.

Regardless of which lodging option you choose, bathrooms, showers, washers, dryers, and electricity will be available on site at the Highland Flats farm.

**You will need to provide your own round-trip transportation from the airport to the farm or your hotel.  If you choose to stay in a hotel, Young Living will provide a shuttle to pick you up and drop you off at your hotel each day.  Additional details about this shuttle will be included in your registration confirmation email.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q:  What airport do I fly into?

A: Spokane, Washington

Q: Will there be transportation to and from the airport?

A: Yes there will be a shuttle service provided by the farm, 3 times daily. A time schedule will be published on December 5. This a change from the website because of several requests. This will also limit the number of vehicles on either farm.

Q: Will there be shuttle service from the hotels to the farms?

A: Yes, there will be 1 shuttle to the farm in the mornings, and 1 shuttle to the hotels in the evenings.

Q: Is there a hotel near the airport for early or late arrivals?

A: Yes, at travelers expense. The Wyndham hotel at the Spokane Airport is as easy as a walk across the street. This hotel is right across from the entrance to the airport.

Q: Will there be a published list of attendees?

A: On or about December 5, a list of scheduled attendees will be published along with assigned lodging. This will not be a finalized list as far as registration is concerned. Registration will remain open until December 15.

Q: Are meals included?

A: Yes they are. However, on the registration form there is a space for listing specific dietary requirements and/or food allergies so that care can be taken to accommodate you as much as possible.

Q: What can be expected for temperatures and weather?

A: Because of the northern location of Idaho, and specifically both St. Maries and the Highland Flats farms, temperatures can be very cold to moderately cold, from -10 degrees to 30 degrees.

The climate for St Maries is temperate St Maries average annual precipitation is 30.49 inches per year. St. Maries average annual snowfall is 59.5 inches per year. The average winter temperature is 28.6 degrees F.The average summer temperature is 67.5 degrees F.

For the Highland Flats Tree Farm, see the link below for Ponderay, Idaho, nearest town to the farm. May also look at Bonners Ferry, Idaho and St. Maries, Idaho.

Q: What type of clothing should I bring?

A: Layered clothing is always best when being in cold temperatures. This allows for layers to be shed as the body warms up during physical activity, and allows for layers to put on when it becomes cooler. Warm work gloves, a beanie cap, insulated and water proof boots, bibs or coveralls are optional, however, if working in the forested area they can protect you from damaging clothing.
